All exploratory efficacy trial results should be disclosed, says IFPMA

Companies should now disclose information on all confirmatory and exploratory efficacy clinical trials, the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations(IFPMA) has said.
The federation last week updated its position on the disclosure of clinical trial information via clinical trial registries and databases, replacing positions taken in 2005. The new position represents the views of EFPIA, the European federation, and PhRMA and JPMA, the US and Japanese industry associations respectively.
Disclosures should be made on clinical trial registries, which provide information on new or ongoing trials, and databases, which store the summary results of completed clinical trials, it says.
